6/23/15 • Local Agency Named Telly Award Winner For Second Year

Lyerly Agency achieves Bronze in 36th annual international visual arts celebration

(6/23/15) BELMONT, N.C. –  The 36th Annual Telly Awards presented brand marketing and public relations firm Lyerly Agency with its second consecutive statuette in the international competition. Honored as a Bronze Winner among 12,000 global submissions, the agency was recognized for its creative vision capturing the strides of one young man and the entire earnest mission of Belmont’s Holy Angels.

The online video artistically created for Holy Angels – titled “Miracles with Eduardo” – spotlighted the compassionate care given daily at the Belmont, N.C., non-profit wholly dedicated to providing care and opportunities to infants, children and adults with intellectual developmental disabilities. The piece also prominently highlighted 16-year-old Eduardo, whose life changed forever when a vehicle struck the bicycle he was riding three years beforehand. Projected to never walk, talk or eat by mouth again, Eduardo joined the Holy Angels family and exceeded expectations, becoming an independent man through music therapy, swimming lessons and more. His triumphs, his joys, his laughter and his heartfelt spoken words of appreciation were captured in Lyerly Agency’s award-winning video for Holy Angels.

“We felt honored, beyond measure, to witness these precious, heart-warming moments with Eduardo,” said Melia Lyerly, COO. “His story truly captures Holy Angels’ unrelenting work toward bettering every day of every adult and child served by this organization.”

The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations and corporate video departments in the world.

A prestigious judging panel comprised of more than 650 industry professionals – each a former Silver Telly winner and member of The Silver Council – judge the competition.

Regina Moody, President/CEO of Holy Angels, offered sentiments of tribute for the agency’s Bronze Telly Award. “We challenged Lyerly Agency to take their first video, also a Telly Award winner, and improve upon it for 2014. They masterfully stepped up to the task and surpassed our hopes, beautifully spotlighting Eduardo and receiving many tears at the video’s debut. We’re proud to work with the Lyerly team on projects that reflect Holy Angels’ mission of ‘loving, living and learning for the differently able.’”
