Belmont Business Owner Appointed To Red Cross International Leadership Role

Lyerly Agency president named Chair of nonprofit’s Tiffany Circle International Council

(5/4/16) BELMONT, N.C. –  Continuing the philanthropic mission of helping people prevent and prepare for life’s emergencies, Lyerly Agency President and CEO Elaine Lyerly becomes the first Chair of Tiffany Circle’s International Council, dedicated to expanding the organization’s charitable reach among highly-involved women philanthropists around the globe.

Over a century ago, the American Red Cross began its task of delivering compassionate care to those in need. In 2006, talented, dedicated, engaged women chose to carry on founder Clara Barton’s legacy and unite to ensure the nonprofit’s goals were continually met. Tiffany Circle in the U.S. has raised more than $70 million to date with this objective at the forefront.

This community of highly-involved, generous female leaders not only responds regularly to Red Cross needs, but also contributes immensely to the organization through donor experiences that include education, volunteer activities and other Red Cross initiatives.

Lyerly moves into the Tiffany Circle International Council Chair position following decades of work with the nonprofit. She previously served as National Chair of Tiffany Circle for three years among numerous other roles with Red Cross. She also received the Harriman Award for Distinguished Volunteer Service from the American Red Cross, the highest national award bestowed by the charity to a volunteer.

Said Lyerly about her international appointment, “Tiffany Circle brings together a group of women who are all passionate about the humanitarian mission. And for so many of us, there’s an amazing byproduct of beautiful friendships in addition to the work we’re able to accomplish for Red Cross societies. I’m honored to lead the Tiffany Circle International Council and share our message, our spirit and our joy for helping others with brilliant, vibrant women everywhere.”
